Disturbing

Why would an app that was purchased for the specific purpose of backing up my text messages be updated into an text message program? Why did they think I would need a program to send text when I already have that ability? Should I not have be given the option to add this new app/feature to my phone while keeping what I paid for?
Now this app does not communicate with Bitvise SSH server nor the SMS Export Plus on my desktop! Please give us option to uninstall updates or redo the app so it does what we bought it for!!
I want to be able to save my text messages again!!!
